This is nothing new, but it reveals one important thing. There is connection between letters and Z340. " Peek A Boo" could meen that we need to look "Boo" from cipher. Half filled circle symbol looks a lot like eyes in Halloween card. What if this means that we need to find thirteen circle symbols. Maybe using words that include letter "O"

This could be "Doom". This also would explain why Zodiac has drawn "M" so that it looks like "W".

 In 13th Victim Postcard Zodiac write " The pace isn`t any slower! In fact it`s just on big thirteenth". Also in Little List Letter Zodiac has drawn one big Zodiac symbol.

Ps. I forgot a couple of months from my calculations. Maybe i need to stop drinking wine. Anyway there is connection.

This is an example of how in detail we may need to read these letters. There is a little spacing in word "want".  I believe it is there. If  I show this to someone totally new to this case, he/she would`t believe there is nothing suspicious. It would feel far-fetched that these spacings mean something. That they are intentional. But if we assume for a second that there is a purpose for these spacings, what it could be.

If we read from left to right, there is no "wa" in Dec. 7 letter, but if we read vertical, there is. Also "go" can be found this way. This could explain why Zodiac has left strange spacings between words in Dec. 7 letter. Maybe it is important that specific letters are on top of each other. I don`t know what this means, but it proves that we need to read vertical too.

In "This State.." letter, Zodiac write " ha! ha! ha!". In Dec 7 letter "then" is written wrong so that we can find one "ha" there. But he says that there are three times "ha". If we read also vertical, we can find those two missing ones of "ha".

Now we have already found word "than" so we know that "ha" is R+. Three of those R+ has a suspicious symmetry. There are three lines between each of them. Also two of them are vertical and one horizontal, just like in Dec. 7 letter.

Maybe these two vertical "ha" are starting point of sentences. H is now capital I.

Sentences have been written very precisely. For example there are correct number of spacings. In Z340 these spacings has just been taken off. Also three columns in left side of Z340 are correct.

How to know where " I will turn my..." sentence start? If we rotate letter 90 degrees clockwise, capital I forms "HE" with  letter w. We have already found word "The", so maybe they are related.

Last letter of sentence is correct in Z340. Letter "y" is in right place. Also there is hyphen after "y"

"The will be a cop" was meant to be taken literally so maybe this is too. "I will turn my" could mean that we need to turn "By". There is one line that start with "yB". 

This spacing leaves no room for speculation. It is so obvious.

There is no same kind of spacing in any other letter.

"Zo" could be a reference to a similar symbol combination in Z340. This way we get location of "This is the Zodiac" sentence. "Speaking" could be above "I will kill".

There are a same number of letters in both sentences, "This is the Zodiac" and "again so expect it". Also both sentences have same horizontal position in Z340. 

All sentences together.

And here.

First and last symbol of "will" have been written similarly in sentences "I will kill" and "I will turn". Purpose could be that this way we can have a small assurance that "I will kill" is in right place. Because there is no "will" beginning of a sentence "I just need help".

There are only two Zodiac symbols and both times plaintext letter is E.

Three times half filled square. Plaintext letter is always I.

1. Similarities Between Fairfield Letters

 Fairfield letters posted Dec. 7, 1969 and Dec. 16, 1969 have a lot of suspicious similarities. Three sentences start same way.

More linking words. "Ok" could be in word  "look".

 Some of the words are misspelled like "trouble" is written "troulbe". Maybe because "be".

More misspelled words. "Then" is written "than". Both letters have one "than".

Z38 contains 38 symbols. I found it very bizarre that nine days after that, the Zodiac threatens to kill 38 people. It feels like he is trying to say that those symbols are victims.

2. Button Theory

The Zodiac insist in many letters that people need to wear Zodiac buttons. What if he means that some of the Z340 symbols represent victims and we need to cover them with buttons. All these letters are telling which one to cover. Z38 is revealing 38 Symbols. In the end Z340 could look like this. The remaining symbols form a message. How could you crack this kind of cipher without knowing which symbols belong to message?

3. Is There a System Behind Z38?

 

My guess is that basic idea is to find these Z38`s symbols from Z340. Each symbol is part of a word. This way we could get plaintext letter for every Z38`s symbol. If we know location of specific Z38`s symbol in related word, we get plaintext letter. For example if we find word "than" from cipher and last symbol of word is u. Then we know Z38`s symbol u plaintext letter is n.

 Dec. 7 letter has written the way that cipher part contains five lines and text part also contains five lines. Maybe there is a connection between these lines so that symbols in the first line of cipher are related to words in the first line of text part. Most of the words in Dec. 6 letter can be found also in "This State..." letter. So "This State..." letter could be a map to locate those words from Z340. If we only knew how to connect Z340 and "This State..." letter.

4. Five Symbols

There is a five lines wide area in the middle of  "This State..."- letter, where the Zodiac has drawn five symbols from Z340. It is interesting that because letter is written in lined paper, we know that there are five lines. Without lines this could not work. Both, the earlier and the next line, start with letter y. Two Z340`s y symbols are separated also by five lines. Five "This State..."- letter`s symbol are in the same order between these two y letters. 

 This way we can connect these two papers and we know for example where " you better print"- line locate in Z340. It is second line from up.  But now comes a problem. Text area of "This State..."- letter is too high now. We cannot map those lines.  There is something more to understand.

5. Rotation Symbol

This symbol is drawn next to five symbols. Big Zodiac symbol and four smaller ones around it.

 
My guess is that the symbol is associated with the letter posted nine days before. Also in that  letter we can find a big Zodiac symbol and one smaller one in the upper right corner. But where are the three missing ones?

What if this means rotation. We need to rotate Dec. 7 letter in four positions. This way we can find those three missing ones.

 Second option is that we need to rotate Z340, because the first and last symbols of Z38 are arranged so that they are also first and last symbols of Z340. Also there is one big Zodiac symbol under Z340.  We can understand this so that smaller one is meant to be in the upper right corner of Z340.

So this way symbol could illustrate rotation of Z340.

I believe the second option is correct and symbol means rotation of Z340. This is first rotation position. These two symbol Y are measuring points where we can count lines. Upwardly from the upper and lower from the lower.

This is second rotation position. Again Upwardly from the upper and lower from the lower.

6. The Will Be a Cop


This was not easy to find. I almost lost my sanity and nerves with this one. It was so close I did not throw all the papers in the trash can and stopped the whole insanity. The problem was I did not know how to read this thing and how the words have been hidden. Lets look word "the" . If we count five lines from upper Y, in "This State..."- letter, there is a word "the" in the middle of the line. Also if we count five lines from upper y in Z340, there are symbols  upside down T and  two +.  Look next step so you know why i think this is right.

If we count six lines from lower y, we find word " cop" from "This State..."- letter. If we count six lines from lower y in Z340, there are same symbols as in word "the". Upside down T and  two + .

 



Here all together. These two words are composed of the same symbols. In Dec. 7 letter, the Zodiac write " The Will Be a Cop". He means it literally. I did not expect this kind of solution. My theory was that if we find word "the" from Z340, these three symbols represent cops. Perhaps both theories are correct. I don`t know. We will see.

"The" and "cop" are both located in the third line of text area in Dec. 7 letter. If we look third line of Z38, there are two + symbols side by side. So this way we could get plaintext letters, he or op.I don`t know which one. Also we could find those  ++ symbols from Z340 that represent two victims.

7. Than


Here is "than", three lines from upper y. Upside down  u is now n.

Again we can find correct symbols from correct line. "Than" is in fourth line of text area. Also u and / are in fourt line of Z38. They are even same order and spacings are correct. Plaintext letters are n and t.

Update to Busbomb Puzzle

1. Purpose of All These Letters?

This is a key thing to discuss. Why the Zodiac wrote all these letters and is there a complex puzzles in them. My opinion is that it is useless just argue about it. We need to find evidence and investigate all these lettters profoundly.
 Second question is how deep we have to go and how complex it woud be. Do we need to analyze individual symbol(letter) writing style? I am starting to believe that sometimes YES. My resent findings have totally amazed me and i hate to say it but this is absolute rocket science. There is an insane work ahead of us if we want to solve this thing. We are against a genius who has designed for us a nerve-wracking labyrint. This is like a climbing vertical wall. You have to fight for every step. This is not going to open easily.
 I will not reveal yet my all findings. Just update to Busbomb puzzle. This writing and drawing work is so time-consuming and my english is so poor that it could take a while.

2. Orthographic projection

First i like to say that credit for explaining that this is orthographic projection goes to Up2something.
here is the link to the post.

 Zodiac has drawn timer using Orthographic projection. There is right view and front view.

Both views have diagonal other end. Idea is that we need to find these views from cipher and with them draw timer. Very clever way i have to say.

If in previous step views were used to find timer then why the zodiac has used a same view thing with bus and a car?  Maybe for same purpose, to help find something? For example there is a cardboard tube.


 

 

Previously only the end edges of timer matters. So maybe this time we need to find two lines in the same column. But there is not a single pair of sameway rotated lines in same column. Could it be that the Zodiac means there is an arrow pointing against the line, like mirrored K in cipher.

This way we get cardboard tube`s length.

 In another busbomb diagram zodiac has marked photoelectric switches as A and B. This busbomb diagram has only one switch so it has to be symbol A. There are two possible switch and tube compinations.

Now this get interesting and we see how creative these puzzles can be. Flashlight shoud locate at the end of the cardboard tube. Over photoelectric switch is a half filled square and one vertical and one horicontal line next to it. If you draw line from there straight to "mirror". And specifically to the arrow pointin up. Just like in the busbomb diagram. This way you will find precisely same kind of symbol compination but this time mirrored. If you add up these two compinations you get formation that looks very much like a flashlight bulb. Very strange coincidence.

Here is my best proposal. I have changed symbols near flashlight just to illustrate there is a Bulb. I am not saying these symbols needs to be changed permanently.

The Zodiac has drawn very precisely that four wires start from switch. If we put diablo code lines over cipher, there is also four lines starting from symbol A.
